As a fish widespread living in Mediterranean and Aegean Seas, it might also be rarely encountered in the Marmara Sea. Its size is nearly of 25-35 cm; its weight between 0, 5 and 3 kgs.   Any ones of 60 cm and 6 kg might also be seen seldom. It is a carnivorous fish easily eating little crustaceans, fishes and other animals through its powerful chin. Even though it lives in shallow waters during summer, it lives in deeper waters of 30 to 40 meters. The ones older than two years go into deeper waters. The spawning period of such fishes is the period of time between October and December and they lay their eggs at a quantity of 100.000 to 150.000 pieces. The meat of this fish contains too few fish bones and it is very hard, its colour is white and it is well-tasted. Due to its conformity with production culture, it is economically very valuable.

Sea bream is a type of fish being successfully produced presently in Turkey, Greece, Israel and Spain. However, the number of such fishes has decreased too much in seas due to the uncontrolled fishing maintained for years and nowadays it is bred in fish farms. Well at this point, our fish farms appear as a solution against the resources getting decreased and the plants which might increase the fish consumption and contribute to the society with an economical value and, increase in importance.

According to the information gathered from the data's belonging to the State Planning Organisation (DPT), the annual fish consumption per capita in Turkey is about 8 kg. While this annual quantity per capita all over the world is nearly 16 kg, the same quantity in European Union countries is at a level of 22 kg per capital. Compared to the EU countries, Turkey is at 7th rank in respect of production but last rank among EU countries in respect of consumption. The production resulting from fish breeding is a significant export item for our country.

In light of this data, we, as Fjord Marin Turkey, significantly contribute to the fish consumption other than the economical values acquired for our country such as the fish production of good quality related to fish breading for Sea Bream and Sea Bass being bred in our farms is maintained under supervision in respect of every processes, from the initial stage to the last stage of breeding.
